I received a call from the heavy indian accent who stated he was an officer with the law and investigation unit. States that the government placed my social security number on hold, and that a lawsuit is being filed against me. He stated my address. I tried returning call, but it rang then went to a voice mail (noname on machine) stated box was full

I keep recieving calls from this number several times a day, how to get rid of it?!

First there was a voice message that used extreme scare tactics to persuade the receiver to purchase an emergency calling system worn around the neck. I was told to press 1 to get more information so I did. When the representative answered, I told her that I wanted to be taken off the call list. She was rude and said that she was only the operator. I asked her several times but she started to insult me and then hung up. She never identified herself or the company.

It was a collections company claiming to take me to court for non-payment,... of what I don't know and my number is unlisted, how did they get it ?

This number keeps calling, first it ask for my mother, and that its important they speak with her. They said they were the Dept. of Crime prevention, or something. I could understand the indian's accent. Then they called like at 7 in the morning, i diidnt answer, they keeped calling and let a message. This time they were calling for me, say it important I reach them. What the hell is up with this shit.

Calls to tell me that they have a lawsuit against my name and social security number and I will be arrested at my place of employment or doorstep. They also said I need to call them back before something goes wrong with me. Something else is said but I cannot make out the other words.

called and told me I was one of ten people to win a GE Security System. Lady spoke very poor english. When I ask how she got my cell phone number she hung up.

recorded message that say's they are a collection agency and to hang up the phone if you are not the name of the caller and if you stay on line then you are agreeing that is is the person....How do they know if we hang up or listen to the whole message...It's annoying and calls come in every day.

This number has popped up on caller ID 2-3 times a day for over a week. They don't leave a message when the answering machine picks up. My husband answered the call yesterday and they told him our number was given to them by his Mom. They sell environmental cleaners. Called his Mom and she said it's vacuum cleaner and air filter system. She had them do their demo and after 2hours of saying no, she gave the rep our number to get him out of her house.

Man with a havy accent says he is with American Legal Services and his name is Peter Jones. Calls are annoying and harassing. He calls all day and part of the evening on my cell phone and work phone. Says that there is trouble on my SS# and name. never says exactly what it is related to but says to call right back and if I don't bad things will happen. This constitutes threatening and harrasment! Whatever you do, do not give anyone like this any financial information because they are scamming!

There was a recent hack of marketing data from Epsilon, a third party marketer who handles information for many major credit card companies as well as store databases. I have been getting many, many calls asking me to "press 9" to lower my credit card rate. These people are just phishing. NEVER, NEVER give them your information!
